The Book Hive in Norwich is launching a new event to help people find time to read.
The project, a collaborative effort with bokmark-zine Dog-Ear, is called Page Against The Machine and launches on October 11.
Page Against The Machine will see the shop extend its opening times for an extra hour every Wednesday to allow people to do some quiet reading.
Bookseller, Joe Hedinger, said: 'The idea is to fight back against the stress of modern life and boost well-being by offering Norwich locals a space and time to find solace in books - no devices allowed.
'The events will take the form of post-work quiet reading sessions at the shop, where readers can enjoy comfy seats, glasses of wine and no distractions.'
He added: 'We came up with the scheme after seeing recent research from The Reading Agency, which revealed that 67pc of adults would like to read more - and not just for entertainment.'
Page Against The Machine begins on October 11 at 5.30pm. A donation of £2 is suggested and people are advised to bring their own books.
