A Norwich choir is in fine voice as its members prepare for their spring concert - and the group is also inviting new members to join.

Norwich Singers Spring Concert - Voices Through The Years - takes place this Saturday at St Luke’s Church, in Aylsham Road, Norwich, and the varied programme will include the likes of Locus Iste and Ave Verum Corpus ranging through to Bridge Over Troubled Waters and When I’m Sixty-Four plus lots more.

The Singers are also looking for new members to join the group, especially in the tenor section, as well as a new accompanist to play at rehearsals from September.

The Norwich Singers was originally formed by Roy Henton in 1954. The current musical director is Jason Lambert, who took over the role in December 2012.

Among the choir’s favourite works performed over the years are Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, Schubert Masses, Mozart’s Requiem and Mass in C, Handel’s Judas Maccabeus and Acis and Galatea, Vivaldi’s Gloria and Faure’s Requiem.

• Rehearsals take place on Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm until 9.30pm at St Anne’s Church, in Colman Road, Norwich. Anyone interested in joining Norwich Singers should call musical director Jason Lambert on 07775 355168.

• Voices Through The Years is on Saturday from 7.30pm until 9.30pm at St Luke’s Church, in Aylsham Road.

Tickets £8 on the door including refreshments.
