From the smallest of books to the heaviest of tomes, a special exhibition at Norwich Cathedral's Library is putting a spotlight on size.
Books Great and Small features some of the tiniest and largest publications that can found on the historic library's bookshelves, and it considers the reasons why they are the size that they are.
With the larger, elaborately decorated, books on display - including the beautifully illustrated Nuremberg Chronicle from 1494 looking at the history of the world from creation to the 15th century - they were often created to be an object of show or for public reading.
Meanwhile with many of the smallest books - including some copies of prayer books and the Bible that are amazingly only a little bit bigger than postage stamps - they are likely to have made so that they could fit in people's pockets and be easily portable.
Books Great & Small is at Norwich Cathedral's Library until March 29. The exhibition is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9.30am until 4.30pm and the first Saturday of the month from 12.30pm until 2.30pm.
