The Royal Norfolk Show next week will mark the important role that the UK's armed forces play, both today and in the past, in keeping our country safe.

Held in the week leading up to Armed Forces Day, this year's show will mark the Centenary of the end of the Great War with a special display – 'Norfolk Remembers' – in the Grand Ring each day.

To mark Reserves Day on June 27, the show is throwing open its doors to any serving member of the Armed Forces who wishes to attend in uniform.

Mark Nicholas, the show and programmes director, said: 'We could not let this anniversary pass unmarked and wanted to bring to life the realities of war in a defining centenary celebration.'

The show is making an addition to 2018 by supporting the military charity 'There But Not There'.

Greg Smith, chief executive officer of RNAA said: 'Mark and I know at first hand just how valuable the support of the public is to our excellent servicemen and -women so we're delighted to be recognising their service in this way.'
