North Norfolk Railway is ready to host is biggest steam gala of the year.

The event runs on the Sheringham to Holt heritage line from this Friday until Sunday August 31.

Among the line-up a locomotive which is newcomer to the line, where it will now be based.

The B1 Mayflower, which has recently been acquired by a new owner, is in immaculate condition.

There will also be the first ever visit of a Manor Class Locomotive.

Dinmore Manor is owned by a group which has preserved this and other engines for use on the Heritage Railways in the UK.

The locomotive is usually found at the Gloucester and Warwickshire Railway where it is based.

It arrived in early August to provide back up during the busy peak summer season service.

It will star at the gala along with another visitor Black 5 45305.

The arrival of this locomotive will provide the long-awaited opportunity to provide a double-headed Black 5 operation, something the railway has tried to set up for a number of years.

The visiting Black 5 is owned by the 5305 Association based at Loughborough. It is mainline registered and hauls regular charter trains on the Mainline network.

To support the visitors the home fleet including Black 5 George Stephenson, Standard 4 76084, the Iconic B12, Hunslet Ring Haw and the recently returned Black Prince 9F locomotive, owned by Wildlife Artist David Shepherd will be providing an extensive timetable.
