His show Suggs: My Life Story includes tales from his childhood on the streets of London’s Soho in the 1970s and his first appearance on Top of the Pops as an 18-year-old.

Tonight at 7.30pm, the Marina hosts the Northern Area Gala Concert, featuring young musicians from the North Suffolk String Ensemble, the North Suffolk Youth Concert Band and the Stradbroke Band.

The performers will be getting together to present an evening of string, brass and wind band music, which will include popular pieces such as Eric Coates’ The Dambusters March, and Leroy Anderson’s Bugler’s Holiday.

Tomorrow night, Yorkshire-born singer Joe Longthorne will be taking to the Marina stage.

During his long career, Joe has received several gold and platinum discs for his albums and has sold out the Royal Albert Hall.

On Sunday at 7.30pm, The Solid Silver 60s Show will be reliving the swinging sixties with original artists singing their greatest hits.

Now in its 29th year, the show reunites Brian Poole and The Tremeloes and also features Chris Farlowe and Chris Montez. They will all be backed by Vanity Fare.

On Wednesday evening from 7.30pm, the story of comedy legend Eric Morecambe will be brought to life on the Marina’s stage.

The Olivier Award-winning play Morecambe – directed by Paul Hendy and starring Bob Golding– is a moving, often hilarious, tale that recounts the life and career of one of Britain’s best-loved entertainers, from his humble beginnings in music halls to TV stardom, which later attracted 28 million viewers on Christmas Day.
