One hundred Norfolk people took to the Norwich Theatre Royal stage yesterday for the opening night of a show celebrating our county.
Called 100pc Norfolk, the show offers a snapshot of Norfolk today by putting a human face on statistics about the county. The cast features 100 ordinary people from across the county aged from five to 83.
Director Emma Bernard, who was brought up in Banham, said: “It has been fantastic working with such a wide range of people from Norfolk. The majority of them have never been on stage before and they have taken to it really well.”
It is based on an on-going project by Berlin-based Rimini Protokoll which has so far included 100pc Berlin, 100pc Vienna and 100pc Vancouver.
There are performances of 100pc Norfolk at Norwich Theatre Royal today at 2.30pm and 7.30pm. Tickets are priced £5.50 to £15. Book online at www.nnfestival.org.uk, by phone on 01603 766400 or in person at Norwich Theatre Royal box office.
