Headliners The Black Keys gave their all to an adoring crowd as they closed the Obelisk stage ending the 9th Latitude Festival.

The Ohio duo’s blues infused brand of indie rock had a crowd of many thousands singing and clapping along to their anthemic classics.

They wouldn’t have got off the stage alive if they hadn’t belted out, Lonely Boy and Money Maker from 2011 album El Camino, and 2014’s single Fever.

Howlin’ For You, Tighten Up from their 2010 breakthrough album Brothers saw their legions of fans joining in with every word.

Opening with crowd pleaser Dead And Gone they set the scene for a spectacle that would easily feature as one of Latitude’s greatest acts.

Run Right Back continued the stomping theme and was rapidly followed by Same Old Thing, and this was just warming up.

Imploring the crowd to help them out they let rip with Gold On The Ceiling. To a rapturous reception.

Dan Auerbach ground his guitar for all it’s worth and Patrick Carney dominated his drum kit, although tonight seemed a grander affair as the group showcased the fuller sound they are progressing to with their new album True Blue.

It was a compelling performance that left the crowd hungry for more.

  • I created an account just to leave this message... The Black Keys were awesome, but did anyone even glance at this article before publishing? its not the 6th Latitude its been running since 2006... the name of their album is El Camino (like the car...) and the last sentence is missing a word
