Loddon Mill Arts, on Bridge Street, is housed in two studios at the back the old mill house, and has been successfully run as an arts venue by Andrew and Katherine Walter since 2009.

Now the couple are preparing for their latest season with sponsorship provided by McIntyre Estate Agents.

Mr Walter said: “We have worked successfully with Musker McIntyre since we got going. Part of our success is due to the support of local businesses, councils, politicians and the local community.”

Together the couple run the venue from their home using their contacts to help bring artists to the Waveney Valley, with Mr Walter an award-winning producer and sound engineer, and Mrs Walter a PR consultant.

Mrs Walter said: “Loddon Mill Arts is self-funding and is unique.

“We have no grants and run events purely because my husband and I have contacts in the industry and are passionate about bringing top-class acts to everyone and not wanting the arts to be elitist.”

Joanna McIntyre, senior partner of Musker McIntyre, said: “Katherine and Andy have created a real buzz at Loddon Mill Arts through many stimulating and ground-breaking events.

“We are very pleased to be able to help this fascinating arts project and are sure that it will continue to thrive.”

The new season starts with a recital by Angell Trio and dinner on Friday, October 12.

Violinist Jan Peter Schmolk, who is leader of the Royal Opera House Orchestra, will be joined by pianist Francis Angell and cellist Sally Pandlebury for the performance. They will then coach a masterclass on Sunday, October 14.

The historic mill also homes a wellbeing centre and a vintage tea room.
