Heavy rain has hit Latitude Festival at Henham Park overnight.

Rain poured down at midnight and continued with heavy showers throughout the evening and the morning as areas of the site, in particular the woods area, got increasingly muddy.

Woodchip has been put throughout the main site and areas of the village to reduce the difficulty for festival-goers, but stewards were encouraging people to avoid areas of car parks as tractors stood by in case cars became stuck.

Shortly before 11am the rain stopped, but more is forecast for later in the day. Sunday has been predicted to get the best of the weather.

Today is a sell-out with 35,000 people expected to the site to enjoy acts including Laura Marling, DJ Mark Lamaar, comedian David O’Doherty and Professor Brian Cox.

The night will be headlined by Elbow who are expected to give a performance complete with a spectacular firework display.
