Hat-trick of open air concerts delights audiences at Taverham Hall

The hat-trick of open-air shows, presented by Norwich-based promoters Outside Live, saw thousands of people head to Taverham Hall over the three days.

Rhythm and blues maestro Jools Holland kicked off the festivities on Friday night with his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra plus special guests who had everyone up and dancing despite the rain.

On Saturday night it was the turn of the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra to take to the stage for The Music of Bond concert.

The orchestra and guest vocalists wowed the crowds with a stunning performance of James Bond classics which included everything from Skyfall to A View to a Kill, and a skydiver surprised the audience during the Live and Let Die sequence.

Classical singer Zaira Palumbo, from Sprowston, also shared the stage on Saturday night as the support act.

And finally, today saw The Shires - featuring singer-songwriters Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes - entertain country music fans with an afternoon concert that also featured Norfolk-based bands Morganway and Sam Coe and The Long Shadows on the line-up.

Taverham Hall's popularity as a live performance venue is growing. Jools Holland made a welcome return to Norfolk delighting his many fans, some of whom travelled from London to see him, while the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra's celebration of the music of James Bond left audiences shaken and stirred, and The Shires proved a great end to a brilliant weekend of music. Thank you to everyone who made the events such a success.'

This was the second year of Outside Live concerts at Taverham Hall, following the West End spectacle Beyond the Barricade and the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra's John Williams Soundtrack Spectacular in July 2016.
