A free evening of modern jazz is to be held in Lowestoft this weekend.

Pangaea, a band formed in 2010 by saxophonist Dave Ingham, will perform in the town, bringing the band’s unique interpretation of the genre.

Taking influence from across the world - including sounds of Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and Europe - the band draw inspiration from such musicians as Pharoah Sanders, Abdullah Ibrahim and Yusef Lateef.

The band will be performing as a five-piece, featuring Mr Ingham on tenor, soprano sax and piano, Stephen Mynott on guitar, Vilem Hais on double bass, Azzy King on drums and Rebecca Waller on violin.

Pangaea’s performance will fuse the jazz genre with groove orientated sounds.

The concert will be held at the Marina’s Rest on Rotterdam Road in Lowestoft.

Admission is free of charge, starting at 3pm on Sunday, August 13.
