Artists have just a few days left to apply to take part in a new open air art project celebrating Norwich.

Paint Out Norwich – a Plein Air visual arts competition – will see a trail of 20 artists out and about in the city on October 22 and 23 creating work inspired by six city landmarks. The deadline to apply for a place is Monday.

The event is part of this year’s Hansells Hostry Festival, for which the Eastern Daily Press is a media partner, and there will be a Paint Out Norwich exhibition in the Hostry throughout the festival from October 24 to November 2.

Norwich Castle, the city’s two cathedrals, the market, Elm Hill and Pull’s Ferry are the subjects of the competition which is open to both professional and experienced amateur artists.

The overall winner will be awarded a £1,000 prize and there will also be a People’s Choice Award.

To apply for a place, artists should submit their biography and examples of work to Paint Out Norwich by Monday, September 1 – visit www.paintoutnorwich.org
