Jody Lawrence from Wiveton shot his Nightscapes collection between dusk and dawn.

Long exposures, combined with extra man-made lighting - sometimes from an LED torch or car headlights - see him controlling a sometimes unseen scene.

Freelance photographer Mr Lawrence explained: “Working at night, with long exposures, allows me to show a side to the landscape in a completely new light – literally.

“The camera picks up far more than we can see, revealing a hidden night-time world.

“Light is extremely important to me. Photography is simply managing the light that bounces off objects, so night photography has to be the ultimate challenge for any photographer.

“Using natural light is very satisfying, but here you’re always at the mercy of the weather. The sudden arrival of cloud over the moon can quickly ruin a picture, that’s why I’ve learned a few tricks.

“I’ll use anything to hand, from my car headlights to a small LED torch.”

His pictures range from fishing boats on star lit beaches to Cromer pier and prom illuminated by lamp standards.

Mr Lawrence added: “The fact that it is dark means most people do not even consider taking photos but with a tripod and a couple of lights a camera can see a whole new world – one that cannot even be seen by our eyes.”
