Art, music and literary lovers will be able to see an eclectic mix of performers, writers and even politicians at an intimate festival next weekend.

Voewoood Festival, at the 1905 arts and crafts house on Cromer Road, High Kelling, will run from Friday August 15 to Sunday August 17.

And you could win a pair of tickets worth £140, for the day and evening on Friday by entering a competition in this week’s North Norfolk News.

As well as enjoying the different acts, the winners will be able to meet north Norfolk artist Lucy Loveheart.

She will be exhibiting work including the painting Imagine...a North Norfolk Daydream Winners, which was shortlisted for this year’s Holt Festival Art Prize.

Her paintings also depict scenes, famous landmarks and businesses around north Norfolk, including a painting of Voewood House owner, Simon Finch, standing outside playing his guitar.

She will also be singing alongside her band Lucy and the Brothers Swing at the festival.

Other Voewood attractions include a one-hour debate between North Norfolk Liberal Democrat MP Norman Lamb and Holt businessman Michael Baker, UKIP prospective parliamentary candidate for North Norfolk, a reading by actor
John Hurt, and potter Emma Bridgewater.

Musical acts will include Peter Hook, from New Order and Joy Division, with his band Peter Hook and The Light; former Ultravox and Band Aid star Midge Ure; and Sex Pistol Glen Matlock.

Lucy Loveheart said: “Voewood Festival is such a fabulously unique experience, I think everybody should be able to witness the magic that goes on over the weekend.”

Tickets range from £15-£165 and can be bought for individual evenings, days or the whole week-end. It is free for children under five.
