Dubbed the boutique literature and musical festival of the summer, tickets went on sale today for the popular north Norfolk event - the Voewood Festival.
Making its third return in August, the festival will play host to a variety of famous artists while encapsulating the whole experience in a rock ‘n’ roll vibe.
Running from August 15-17, the programme has been put together by owner Simon Finch and will see Voewood House overflowing with writers, journalists, singers and musicians during the three days.
Mr Finch said: “I don’t go to many parties but I really wouldn’t miss this one.”
The festival boasts a line-up that includes New Order and Joy Division star Peter Hook, Martin Parr, Midge Ure, Alison Moore and Los Pacaminos, singer Paul Young, Jamie Moses, Drew Barfield, Melvyn Duffy, Mark Pinder, Matt Irving and Steve Greetham.
The literary element will include environmental activist Paul Kingsnorth, who will be reading from his new first novel The Wake, as well as DBC Pierre, Iain Sinclair, Louisa Young, Owen Sheers and Tim Lott.
Poet Murray Lachlan Young will entertain audiences with wry verses and artist Viktor Wynd will be reading from his forthcoming book Viktor Wynd’s Cabinet of Curiosities.
Former 1960s model Jenny Boyd will talk about her book It’s Not Only Rock ‘n’ Roll, and Chris Salewicz will be talking about his, The 27 Club, an analysis of seven influential musicians who died at the age of 27.
Documentary photographer Martin Parr will be launching his book of photographs of previous Voewood events and Grammy award winning bass guitarist Guy Pratt will present his one man show.
The music programme will include a solo acoustic set from Ultravox frontman and Band Aid composer Midge Ure. And for the final night Sex Pistol Glen Matlock will make an appearance.
With his band Peter Hook and the Light, Mr Hook will be revisiting an impressive back catalogue of his former bands and The Incredible String Band’s Mike Heron will perform a solo set.
There will also be new talent with singer/songwriter Nadine Shah and 15-year-old Sacha Luffman.
In addition there will be food and drink from local suppliers, a programme of dedicated children’s events, book and record stalls, impromptu discussions and special guests.
The festival will help to raise funds for nearby Kelling Hospital.
