One of the only remaining cast members of the classic series Dad’s Army, is to reveal some behind the scenes secrets in a national chat show tour – coming to Sheringham Little Theatre on in June.
More Tea Vicar? stars Frank Williams who played the role of the eccentric vicar who was always slightly tetchy as he tried to come to terms with the elderly platoon’s invasion of his beloved church hall.
“It’s been simply wonderful to be part of something so special,” said Frank, who said the series gentle comedy was loved by audiences of all ages.
“Although I have spent many years in various film and television roles, being part of Dads Army is hard to beat. When we started all those years ago, Ian Lavender and I were the youngest members of the cast. It’s odd now that we are the only two left.”
The stage show, coming to the Little Theatre on June 28, will see him reveal highlights of a film, stage and television career spanning over 50 years, including working with Tommy Cooper, Morcambe and Wise and in All Gas and Gaiters.
“I’m looking forward to talking about the strange and remarkable things that the audience never see,” says Frank, including the Dad’s Army team nearly getting flattened by a run runaway steam train.
Tickets for the 7.30 pm Sheringham show are £12 through the box office on 01263 822347 or sheringhamlittletheatre.com.
