The Blitz spirit will be celebrated at Filby with vintage songs and singalongs from the wartime era.

Songs of Victory will ring out in the village hall on Saturday May 5, 7.30pm.

The theatre show commemorates music, songs and sketches that helped to “win the war”.

Professional singer, Sarah Probert who specialises in songs and medleys by the likes of Vera Lynn, Flanagan & Allen, The Andrews Sisters, The Glenn Miller Orchestra and Doris Day is among the cast.

It follows the company’s sell out Remembrance Day show in November last year.

Singer Sarah said: “Music was such an important factor in maintaining the spirits of the British during both world wars, offering hope and optimism in a time of such fear and uncertainty and we are looking forward to celebrating those songs that everybody will know and can join in with.”

Tickets £8 in advance or £10 on the door are available from www.sarahprobert.co.uk or on 07496 041768 or 07909 510976.
