An exotic coastal garden, an 18th century orangery and a temple will be just some of the horticultural delights on show this month at two attractions.

Blickling Hall gardens, dating back to the 15th century, and East Ruston Old Vicarage will be open on Saturday October 11 as part of the Norfolk National Gardens Scheme which raises money for nursing and other caring charities.

The Blickling Hall Estate, near Aylsham (NR11 6NF), will be open between 10.30am-5.30pm. It will cost £8.95 for adults and £4.95 for children.

The 55-acre garden is one of the greatest in England and incudes an 18th century orangery, Doric-style temple, secret garden, beautiful double borders and parterre, lake, topiary and yew hedges.

The kitchen garden will also be open.

East Ruston Old Vicarage (NR12 9HN) is open from 1-5.30pm. It will cost £8 for adults but children can visit for free.

The 20-acre exotic coastal garden includes traditional borders, tropical garden, desert wash, sunk garden, topiary, water features, walled and Mediterranean gardens, rare and unusual plants and vegetable cutting gardens.
