  Precipitation

Climate change models predict drier summers and wetter winters for the South East of England. Extreme precipitation events are also expected to be more likely.

Explaining the increased likelihood of these extreme events, climate scientists point to the fact that with a warmer ambient temperature the atmosphere will be able to retain more moisture before it falls as rain. You only have to look at how heavy the thunderstorms often are on a hot day to partly rationalise this in your mind.
