Car pool tech firm Liftshare has received a grant to research how it could help tackle social isolation and rural loneliness.
The Norwich-based company has been given £25,000 by innovation company Nesta to find evidence about how digital platforms could be used to support on-demand travel services and community transport (CT).
The HappyCT project is being headed up by Liftshare's head of growth Paul Gosnell.
He said: 'Community transport is a huge industry but relatively unknown to the people it can help most – the people cut off from society due to lack of or poor transport options. Combining support, awareness and data with technology can help connect people and CT operators which is something myself and Liftshare are passionate about doing. It's using technology to solve real problems.'
