Twice a year teddy boys and rockabilly girls head to Hemsby to celebrate the Rock ‘N’ Roll Weekender. Here’s a look back at the event in the 80s and 90s.
The 56th Rock ‘N’ Roll Weekender takes place next week at Seacroft Holiday Village in Hemsby, starting on Friday 6 May and finishing Monday 9 May. Held at the Seacroft Holiday site, the event celebrates all that was good about the late 40s and 50s, including cars, music, fashion and entertainment.
The event will be headlined by Sonny Burgess, an American musician who in the early 1950s performed ‘boogie woogie’ music in dance halls and bars, and was a member of the Rocky Road Ramblers.
Other acts over the weekend include The Polecats, The Big Six, Kid Kyle and WS ‘Fluke’ Holland.
