Are two park and ride sites better than one? That is a question many people will ask about Norfolk County Council’s proposal to close two sites in Norwich and replace them with a single one.

Planners say the new site, near to Norwich Airport, will be bigger and better than the others.

They also say its location, where the A140 meets the new £178.5m Northern Distributor Road (NDR), is ideal spot for the city’s traffic.

Not all considerations are about traffic - Sprowston Park and Ride is earmarked for a new school.

But with the existing Airport Park and Ride already operating at capacity, many passengers will wonder whether one less park and ride will make public transport less accessible.

Clearly, this is a multi-layered decision. Let’s hope those making the decision consider all options closely and make the best choice.
