What a coup for Norwich to have the chance to display a Damien Hirst sculpture in the city centre.

News that Norwich University of the Arts has been given the opportunity to host the sculpture Hymn (1999) by such an internationally renowned artist is yet another sign of Norwich's growing status on the national and global art map.

We hope NUA's planning application for permission to display the sculpture is successful as Hymn is sure to be a brilliant cultural boost for the city, attracting great interest and debate from people living in the city and beyond.

It would also provide a great link to Houghton Hall's forthcoming major exhibition on Damien Hirst, and together the works in both Norwich and north Norfolk would be a wonderful way to showcase our whole county as a world-class destination for cultural tourism.
