North Norfolk residents could help save Cromer’s Christmas, thanks to the Tesco store in Sheringham.

The ‘Lights for Cromer Christmas’ community project has been nominated for one of the store’s grants, meaning they could win £4,000, £2,000 or £1,000.

All shoppers will need to do is put their shopping token gained on any value purchase to the Cromer Christmas lights fund as they leave the store.

The project would then use the money to complete their third year of a refurbishment programme, which is essential to keep Cromer merry and bright at Christmas.

A spokesman for the project said that the funds would be used: “To provide the town with brighter, better illuminations, and reduce electricity costs.

“This year we are concentrating on the Suffield Park/schools area and minor roads such as Garden Street and others central to the Christmas celebrations in Cromer.”

The group added: “Help us to help you all to a brighter Christmas.”
