The Conservative Party chairman has vowed to start the student loan payback threshold at £25,000.

This might sound wonderful, but by the time new students graduate and work their way through the precarious gig economy, where many employers have to be actually bribed by government to contemplate apprenticeships, I doubt students’ shiny new £25k wage will be able to cope with inflation, never mind repay a loan.

Globalisation has brought in cheap labour and automation has decimated jobs, the toxic essential ingredients for social unrest and strife.
