7. The Royal estate at Sandringham with its country park and the variety of events staged there including the Flower Show, country fair and carriage-driving championships. At Christmas Sandringham offers the unique opportunity to see a large gathering of the Royal Family attend church.

8. West Norfolk offers a great variety of delightful pubs, restaurants and cafes by the sea and in the countryside offering local delicacies such as Cromer crab and samphire.

9. The delightful scent of Norfolk Lavender never fails to please. It can be enjoyed in the grounds of the Heacham-based company but thrives equally well in the garden.

10. There are few places in Britain where it's possible to enjoy the haunting sight and sound of skeins of pink-footed geese flying over your home. Sometimes thousands fill the sky as they move between the mudflats of the Wash and farmers' fields. They are a joy to behold.
