It's our birthday - Event is two years old. We have produced 5000 copies of Guide#1, the first of what we hope will be a regular series of CDs showcasing the wealth of musical talent from our area.

We have got together with 17 of the area's most talented artists - and Norwich production company Noisebox - to produce more than an hour of great original music.

We decided to produce the CD because we have long felt that the original musical talent in the area deserved a wider audience. From the singalong opening track 'Thwipside' by Norwich noiseniks Kaito to the final track, the hypnotic chill-out balladry of No-Man, we explore a wide range of genres from indie to acoustic, from nu-metal to ambient, from power pop to plain quirky. We believe you will be simply bowled over by the range and depth of the musical talent on display here.

So listen to the CD. Check out the bands' and artists' other work. Look out in Event and on EDP24 for their gig details and go along and support them. The next big thing could be right here on our doorstep - and you can be the one to help them to fame.

Happy birthday.
