Snettisham Beach Sailing Club have been granted the esteemed Volvo RYA Champion Club status for their commitment to junior sailing and the delivery of high level training.
With plenty of sunshine and a steady, but very cold, easterly breeze, Sunday was possibly the best sailing day so far this year on Oulton Broad and there was a big increase in the turn-outs.
Twelve Yeomans and a Kestrel turned out at Horning on what was probably the best day of the season for Snowflakes' final points series, "Round the Cans".
A dank, dour day greeted sailors on Sunday as they turned out for their weekly pleasure, with a chill NNE wind reminding the 24 helms and crews at Rollesby that it was their winter regatta, although they at least did not have a tide to contend with.
The sailing on Oulton Broad last Sunday was in a cold north east wind and fairly uneventful.
Richard Smith and Andrea Prime not surprisingly got round the course the fastest in the first Fast Handicap race but again on handicap the winner came from further back in the fleet, as Alan Cone led the Lasers and moved up to first with David Frary taking second as Smith dropped to third.
