Big crowd expected as carnival hits town

The annual Halloween Carnival night is being held at King's Lynn's Norfolk Arena on Saturday night.

It's an event which usually sees the biggest crowd of the season at Lynn for a busy triple bill of action - as well as a fireworks display and fancy dress parade.

On track the action comes from the BriSCA F1 Stock Cars, Reliant Robins and the final qualifying round for the 1500cc Bangers National Championship.

The F1 Stock Cars will be racing in the penultimate round of their Points Championship which has once again descended into a Stuart Smith v Frankie Wainman shoot-out. The maths are simple for Wainman: for him to have any chance of winning the silver roof he needs to make sure that Smith leaves the Norfolk Arena pointless.

The National Series Shoot-out sees the top 10 drivers racing to determine who will wear the silver roof for next season. Norfolk driver Matt Newson's season was summed up when he made the top 10, but only raced at one round of the shootout before having to prematurely retire for the season after breaking his leg. This means that Matt who is a big favourite at his local track will not be racing.
