Seventeen year-old Norfolk batsman Sam Arthurton is heading abroad as he looks to broaden his cricketing horizons after a promising 2009 season. Arthurton has made significant progress in his first full year at the Graham Gooch Essex Cricket Academy after signing a contract at the end of 2008 and demonstrated his potential by hitting 150 in a second XI friendly against Glamorgan in September.
Bud Bailey has declared himself fit and willing to spearhead the Norfolk bowling attack next season following his release from Northamptonshire.
The 19-year-old paceman, from Watton, has not been offered terms by Northants for the 2010 season because of his ongoing injury problems, and Bailey is currently weighing up his options.
Norfolk's Jaik Mickleburgh has signed a contract extension at Essex which will keep him at the first class county until the end of the 2012 season.
