Music and entertainment
Music is a vital part of any celebration!
It can be great fun choosing the sounds for your big day, from the entrance and exit music at the church, to the hymns and any music at the reception.
Remember that music of a religious nature is not permitted at civil ceremonies and the music chosen has to be confirmed with whomever is officiating.
Youll need music while guests are waiting for you to arrive and during the signing of the register, too.
For the reception, a good mix of music is ideal if you have a mixture of guests. Do ensure the DJ or band will play at the volume you want, and give them a list of requests well ahead.
Dont try to specify more than 20 songs, though, as the DJ needs to mix music well to get a party on the dance floor and keep it there.
Light jazz is good for all ages as older people often enjoy it and it doesnt alienate younger ones. A few childrens favourites your DJ will know are ideal to keep the younger guests happy early in the evening.
Dance lessons can be useful for that first dance, and practise along to the music you will play on the day.
