WINNER - BEST FARMERS' MARKET
Produced in Norfolk at Wroxham Barns

In just a short time, Produced in Norfolk at Wroxham Barns has proved itself a real destination farmers' market. As well as traditional vegetables and meat, there are superb posh tarts, ice creams, jams and chutneys - the things that give this venture the slight edge and will encourage people to travel, particularly when allied with the attractions at Wroxham Barns. As a producer's co-operative of more than 120 members, social enterprise Produced in Norfolk is the only organisation in the county to be led by producers, for producers, with the aim of promoting the distinctiveness of the local area. PIN's overall aim is to help revitalise the rural economy through community developments.

Markets need to demonstrate good engagement with customers, and give a real sense of connection with the land and environment. A wide range of products should be on offer in a great atmosphere.

British Sugar is committed to the East of England : over 1.1 million tonnes of sugar and 450,000 tonnes of animal feed are produced annually. We work with our growers to improve crop yields and constantly seek to improve our processing efficiencies. British Sugar is passionate about sustainability and in its processes such as recycling stones for building; lime for soil conditioning; soil for landscaping and farming. Combined heat and power from our factories exports enough electricity for 250,000 people and the combustion gases to grow 70 million tomatoes, and we invested in the UK's first bio-ethanol plant producing 70 million litres of renewable fuel.
