This award recognises exceptional farm retailers who combine vision, a passion for farming and a mind for retailing, and who offer a wide and interesting range of products and place a strong emphasis on locality and seasonality of produce. The judges will be interested in presentation, customer service and how owners are marketing themselves to the local communities they serve.

The Royal Norfolk Show takes place this year at the Norfolk Showground, Norwich, on Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd July. The Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association (RNAA) has been established since 1847 and is probably best known for the annual two day event. But the Association is involved in much more than just the show; it organises and hosts many events throughout the year at the Showground and widely supports educational projects associated with food, farming and the countryside such as our very successful children's event The Spring Fling. Rewarding and naming the best farm shop is a very positive way the Association can endorse the high quality of local food and the initiatives people have taken to put their food on the map in Norfolk and hopefully beyond the county's boundaries.
