2009 Future 50

Welcome to the first edition of the EDP Future50. Some of the names in these pages you’ll recognise, others have been so busy building their businesses they’ve seldom sought the headlines.
Some have already built multi-million-pound enterprises and have the potential to make their business bigger still. Others are just starting out, but carry great promise.
The overall message is simple. However bad the economic climate, innovators and entrepreneurs are still looking for opportunities and they are still making money. The recession doesn’t mean that business has stopped.

How we compiled our top 50 list

Last September, the EDP called for entries and nominations through our EDP24 website. More than 140 names were put forward and our nine-strong judging panel set about the task of whittling down the list to 50 candidates.
