Winners of a festive competition to find presents scattered across the city have been presented with their prizes.
Eighteen schools decorated present stacks for the NORWICHRISTMAS Art Trail, and for the competition people were asked to find 10 of the stacks and collect stamps. Ten-year-old Mollie Cole-Wilkin, from Drayton High Road, Norwich, won the top prize of £400 of Debenhams gifts/vouchers, and she received her prize at a presentation at John Lewis today where the trail's chosen charity Nelson's Journey was also presented with £500. Mollie, who decorated a present stack with her school Mile Cross Primary, said: 'The trail was really fun. When I found out I had won I was really happy!'
Second prize of £150 vouchers (£50 from Jarrold, John Lewis, and Castle Mall) went to Kayhan Tokbry, and third prize of a £50 Chapelfield voucher and £25 Norwich Theatre Royal voucher went to Phyllis Curtis. Other winners were: Oliver Barkway, Elysia Aves, Kyle Bradfield, Brenda Varnava, Mollie Oxbury, Gary Culling and Olivia Hopkins.
Cathie Davies, from Norwich and Norfolk Community Arts which oversaw the project for Norwich Business Improvement District, said the trail was a huge success and had 600 competition entries.
She said: 'A big thank you to the Norwich Business Improvement District for organising the project, to Howes Percival and Chapelfield for sponsoring it and to all the children who created such beautiful pieces of art!'
