Drivers faced long tailbacks today as thousands of families made their getaway for the four-day Easter break.
Queues built up on the A47 between Thorney and Wisbech, and between the Pullover and Hardwick roundabouts, on the outskirts of King's Lynn.
Traffic was also slow on the A10 and the A149 between the Hardwick Roundabout and Knights Hill, and between Heacham and Hunstanton.
Bus company Norfolk Green said services were being delayed. Spokesman Sue Atter said: 'Traffic in the area's starting to build up as people head for the coast.'
She added delays were likely to peak this afternoon, before the roads became quieter after 5pm.
The AA is predicting this Easter will be one of the busiest-ever on our roads, predicting there would be 16m cars on their way to a holiday or outing.
