Where great food is part of the fun

PUBLISHED: 10:41 06 January 2014 | UPDATED: 10:41 06 January 2014

Great food is all part of the Woodland Holiday Park experience – and chief executive Andrew Hird is keen to get the message across. With the appointment of new head chef, Chris Moore, Andrew is keen to gain an AA rosette for the park’s cuisine.

Woodland Holiday Park facilities

Swimming pool – open to all, with free use for all customers (under-16s to be supervised).

Free wi-fi.

Sky TV in clubhouse 157in big screen (showing all major sport events).

Bike hire (£10,000 worth of new bikes for 2014).

On-site shop.

Pool and snooker room.

Outdoor tennis court.

Indoor table tennis.

Fishing lake – with carp, roach and tench.

Woodland walks (woodland nature trail around the park).

Restaurant in clubhouse – breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Pilates / Zumba.

On-site entertainment in peak season.

Local bus route.

Only about 10pc of UK restaurants reach the standard, which recognizes cooking at different levels and can be decided by a single visit. Restaurants must serve food prepared with care, understanding and skill, using good quality ingredients. The standard of cooking must stand out in their local area.

“It would be a great achievement, but we can do it,” says Andrew.
