Staff from an East Anglian retailer have swapped the shop floor for an obstacle course in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

A team of 10 employees from QD Stores, including its Norwich head office and Thing-Me-Bobs in Attleborough, took part in the EACH Heroic 2017 event at Old Buckenham airfield – a 5km course across mud and water featuring 15 obstacles.

Together the team raised £740 in sponsorship for the event, which was donated to the EACH Nook Appeal.

QD Stores signed up to the Nook business network in April 2015 and staff have completed fundraising events from sky dives to bake sales.

The firm has now raised £52,370 in aid of the charity.

James Collins, QD’s associate director of trading, who took part in the event, said: “We’re delighted to support the Nook Appeal across our QD stores. We set out to raise £25,000 for this excellent cause and we are all over the moon to have doubled our target.”
