Need ideas this weekend? Here’s a quick guide to some of the activities taking place in Norfolk on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday January 23

•Norwich City v Liverpool, Carrow Road, kick off 12:45pm, Live coverage on BT Sport.

The Canaries hope to bounce back from defeat at Bournemouth as they take on Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at Carrow Road. There is live TV coverage on BT Sport, live match coverage on this website or enjoy the match in a pub with a pint.

•The Garden in Winter at Peckover House and Gardens, Peckhover House, 12pm-4pm, Free event (normal admission charges apply).

An opportunity to enjoy the early season with a stroll around the garden. Warming soups and hot drinks available and why not join the team for a free conservation talk in the house at 2pm.

•Viking Fest, Oddfellows Hall Sheringham, 10:30am.

In the lead up to Sheringham’s Vikking Festival there is a shield building workshop for children. They will learn to make their own Viking shield complete with LED lights. Please call 07879 681227 to book your place!

Sunday January 24

•Nature Detectives, Taverham Mill Nature Reserve, 10am-11:30am, £3 per child.

Come along to Taverham Mill Nature Reserve for some fun and explore the nature reserve. Guided walks, quiz trails and explore Fungi are just some of the things to get up to. In wet weather there will be classroom based activities with crafts and modelling. Under 5’s must be accompanied by an adult.

•World Bowls Championship, Potters Resort Hopton, Doors Open 9am, Tickets start at £25.

It is the final day of competition at Potters where the winner of the Singles will be crowned champion. There are also finals in the youth competition and Potters Holiday Champion of Champions.

•Birds of Cley, Cley Marshes, 10:30am- 12:30am, £3.50 NWT members & children and £5 non-members.

If you are new to bird watching and want to learn more about the birds, no matter what your age, join the rangers at Cley Marshes for a walk onto the reserve and the chance to see some of the county’s most beautiful birds.
