A Broads-based boatyard has been crowned the “Best in Britain” at an awards ceremony.
Richardson’s Cruisers, which is located in Stalham, was presented with two tourism awards by domestic holiday company Hoseasons, which included the Best in Britain title.
The yard was also crowned Diamond Award winner in the Boating in Britain, Boating Holidays category.
The awards were presented at Hoseasons’ 12th annual Gala Awards evening, which was held at the five-star Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, South Wales.
The awards showcase the best of the self-catering specialist’s lodges and holiday parks across the UK.
Richardson’s Cruisers chief executive Greg Munford said: “We’re very excited to have won not one but two industry awards and to have been recognised for our hard work.
“We do our utmost to ensure every one of our customers has a memorable holiday experience and winning the Best in Britain title goes to show all our hard work pays off and we’re looking forward to welcoming even more guests for what we hope will be another great year ahead.”
The Hoseasons Diamond Awards are presented to Hoseasons locations that have achieved the highest scores in independent customer satisfaction surveys.
Simon Altham from Hoseasons said: “This boatyard is exactly what we have in mind when we talk about offering our customers a better place to stay, and we wish them all the best for another successful year in 2018.”
Two other local holiday destinations also picked up awards. Cherry Tree in Burgh Castle won Best Family Fun destination in the East of England and Faircraft Loynes was crowned Diamond Award winner, Boating in Britain on the Norfolk Broads.
Others to receive awards included New Oaks Farm Lodges, which is owned by a subsidiary of the Omar Group based in Brandon, and Heathside Lodges in Halesworth.
Heathside was crowned Best Large Lodge Escape destination in the East of England while New Oaks won a Diamond Award in the Lodge Escapes, Lodges and Parks in Britain category.
