A Norfolk firm vowed to create 12 new jobs today as it unveiled its new £500,000 headquarters in Great Yarmouth.
The 3Sun Group, which provides products and services to the energy industry, welcomed Lowestoft’s Olympic boxer Anthony Ogogo to launch its new base on Boundary Road.
The new investment comes after the company decided to move from a facility in Beacon Park, Gorleston, to meet future growth plans.
Graham Hacon, managing director at 3sun Group, said the company will continue to target overseas markets.
“Our growth plans are currently going full steam ahead and I am delighted to announce this investment in our future,” he added. “It has taken time to find the right location and we are delighted to be now operating from one integrated site.
“We aim to recruit at least 12 people in Great Yarmouth by the end of the year, and as we secure more contracts on and offshore the UK and across the world we will continue to recruit.”
As he officially opened the facility, the bronze medallist praised the company for boosting prospects for local people. He said: “A local business offering more jobs for local people is brilliant – and I was lucky enough to meet some of the apprentices that are currently being put through their paces.”
3sun Group, which employs 175 people in Yarmouth, saw its turnover increase from £2.4m in 2010 to £6.5m in 2011, while achieving almost £12m in 2012.
Norfolk entrepreneur Stephen Pitkethly will be realising his father-in-law’s dream when he launches an innovative craft at the Southampton Boat Show next month.
