Norwich team create website for Jamie Oliver

A group of Norfolk creative firms have come together to create a new website for Jamie Oliver’s charity restaurant chain Fifteen London.

The restaurants offer unemployed young people apprenticeships as chefs, and the new site sells branded catering supplies to fund that work.

Norwich-based design studio Solid Block won the contract and brought in freelance illustrator and Norwich School of Art and Design graduate Ricky Butler to create artwork.

Copywriting and search engine optimisation work was also carried out by the Norwich marketing business Fountain Partnership.

Mark Salisbury, director and co-founder of Solid Block, said: “Norfolk has a vibrant creative community and by working with excellent local companies, we are able to offer a real alternative to the often over-inflated prices of many London agencies.”

Rebecca Lewis Smith, copywriter and director at the Fountain Partnership, said: “Every page has to be an active sales tool so we worked closely with Solid Block to make sure that the copy and design worked together to lead to more conversions from the site.”

The Fountain Partnership employs four people at its city centre offices.

Simon Roddis, the other half of Solid Block, which was founded in 2007, said they regularly drew on the wealth of creative talent available in Norwich.

Last year the company, which employs only the two founders, saw turnover of £65,000. But the firm has grown steadily in recent months and hopes to see a 30pc year-on-year increase.
