Norse Commercial Services has secured a three year deal facilities management deal with regional publisher Archant.
The £1.5m-a-year contract with Archant, publishers of the Eastern Daily Press and East Anglian Times, comes with an option to extend for a further three years.
It includes building maintenance, mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance, cleaning, reception, security and caretaking across Archant’s 38 UK locations including Norwich and Ipswich.
The contract, which began this month, sees 32 staff transfer to Norse under Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) regulations (TUPE) .
Norse sales Director Geoff Tucker, said: “This is an important contract win for Norse. “As a major national multi-site agreement with a single client it builds on the company’s growing presence as a Facilities Management provider in the private sector. It is also excellent news for Norfolk and Suffolk, to see two local companies working together and employing local staff.”
Greg Parton, Archant group head of procurement and sustainability, said: “It is great to be able to engage with a company which is prominent in our local communities, having their HQ in Norwich and major depots very close to most of our offices across the country.
“Their track record on quality, reliability and sustainability is excellent; I have told the Norse management team that our staff expect the highest standards and they are eager to show us what they can do.”
The contract follows a number of recent significant wins for the Norwich based FM and contract services provider which, as part of the Norse Group, is placed 15th, an EDP/EADT Top 100 company.
Norfolk entrepreneur Stephen Pitkethly will be realising his father-in-law’s dream when he launches an innovative craft at the Southampton Boat Show next month.
