It has been a year dominated by political upheaval, Brexit and currency fluctuations.

While some firms have been able to make hay – particularly those developing new technologies to help businesses cut their overheads at times of need – others have struggled to stay in the black.

While it has not be all bad there certainly have been some worrying times for workers across a range of sectors but particularly in retail, manufacturing and food.
