When she moved to Norwich from her native Denmark, Maggie Christensen missed the pastries for which her homeland is famous.
But, struggling to find anything which tasted authentic, she took matters into her own hands – by making her own.
After handing out samples of her first batch and being overwhelmed by the response, she decided to launch Maggie’s Pastry and Lemonade to bring a taste of Denmark to Norfolk.
Primarily serving the business market Miss Christensen, 28, runs an online delivery service from her north Norwich home. She said: “In every job I worked back home, someone would go out and get pastries on a Friday morning and everyone would spend some time together, not working, just talking to each other, which is really nice.”
Miss Christensen said her products had already been stocked in Bridewell Alley and the Mustard Cafe at the University of East Anglia.
