Staff who have given nearly 600 years of service to one of Norfolk's best-known construction companies have been honoured.

A special lunch was held to celebrate the contribution of RG Carter's long-serving employees, seven of whom had served between 45 and 50 years and 11 who had clocked up 25 years each.

Among those honoured were brothers Trevor and Ian Goff, who worked a combined 92 years at the EDP/EADT Top 100 group, and carpenter Stephen Mason, who recently retired after 50 years with the company in Norfolk.

He said: 'Over the years, I've never stopped learning and I believe this was down to the people at the company, where they were not only just colleagues but friends too.'

Group chairman Robert Carter thanked them for their hard work and dedication, adding: 'Continuous service is something we value very highly at RG Carter and we are incredibly proud of them all and grateful for their contribution.'
