The number of vacancies in East Anglia has increased but there has been a fall in candidates expecting to change jobs, according to a recruitment agency.

Recruiter Cooper Lomaz, which has offices in Norwich and Bury St Edmunds, found an 11% year-on-year rise in vacancies in the region in the final quarter of 2017.

Technical vacancies were up by 23% compared to 12 months ago however there were 13% fewer specialists seeking new roles, putting pressure on employers.

Cooper Lomaz managing director Simon Brown said the biggest challenge for firms was finding the right staff in the market. He said: “Tracking trends and changes in the market is difficult at the moment due to the constant change and flux month on month. This certainly makes it a great time to be in recruitment as businesses across East Anglia want to grow and hire during the coming year, which with the continual uncertainty of Brexit is great to see.”
