A major housebuilder has helped to enrich the facilities at a primary school near one of its newest developments.

Barratt Homes Eastern Counties donated an outdoor reading shed for pupils at St Peter and St Paul Primary Academy in Carbrooke, which its new Knights Park development in Watton will be in the catchment area for.

In-keeping with the development, the new shed – which was constructed by the company – has been named Knights Keep.

Headteacher Hannah Wheeler said: “We would like to thank Barratt Homes for the donation and building of our new reading shed which the children love and helps bring a social aspect to reading.”

It comes after the firm asked the community to help name its new development on Lancaster Avenue.

Ms Wheeler suggested the winning name, after the Knights of the Hospitallers to whom St Peter and St Paul’s Church in Carbrooke was gifted.
