The Holkham-based Victoria Hotel is to close its doors and undergo a major revamp before being reborn as the Victoria Inn.

The hotel-cum-restaurant, managed by Adnams brewery, will temporarily close before being reopened in May with re-designed bedrooms, bathrooms, bar and restaurant area. Meanwhile, the new menu will draw on the Holkham estate using locally-sourced game and produce.

David Horton-Fawkes, estates director at Holkham, said: “This is a major investment and a brand new start for the Victoria. The Victoria sits at the gateway to the estate and for many people it defines their perception of Holkham and the National Nature Reserve.

“The Victoria will change from a boutique hotel to a modern estate inn, combining the best of the past and the present with boldness, style and simplicity”
